Permitted Footwear Policy

The Windsor Foodservice Stadium has been an artificial pitch since 2020, which has been a big part of the club's success in recent years. To prevent damage to the pitch, we kindly request that all users wear the appropriate footwear as listed in the official guide below. Admittance to the pitch will not be granted unless the correct footwear is available.

PERMITTED FOOTWEAR

Artificial Ground Boots: Specially designed for extra abrasion, these boots usually feature more numerous and densely concentrated studs that vary in height and may be hollowed out.

Firm Ground Boots: Sole plates feature moulded studs which are evenly dispersed across the foot to offer enhanced traction and comfort.

Hard Ground Boots: Sole plates utilise a harder Thermoplastic polyurethane compounded for enhanced durability and typically feature multiple slightly shorter, evenly dispersed studs for optimal pressure distribution.

Turf Trainer: Otherwise known as Astro’s, they feature a solid rubber outsole with numerous small, multidirectional nubs spread across the sole, which offer limited grip in wet conditions.

FORBIDDEN FOOTWEAR

Soft Ground: Soles feature removable, replaceable screw-in studs and typically come in a six-stud configuration, with four at the forefoot and two at the heel. They are forbidden as they tear the surface.

Soft Ground Pro: Also known as Hybrid or mixed stud, the sole plate comprises of a combination of conical screw in studs and moulded studs, which are most commonly bladed. They are forbidden as they tear the surface.

Blades: Sole plates feature multiple straight, slightly shorter, evenly dispersed studs that can restrict movement and turning, which could cause injury

Flat Sole (Indoor): Sole made up of non-marking materials such as moulded gum rubber and features pivot points, flex grooves and herringbone patterns. They have no grip and flatten the surface.

All permitted footwear must be clean and free of any mud or other debris.

For the avoidance of doubt, this policy applies to ALL persons at ALL times during training, warm-ups, match play, pre-match, post-match and any time the pitch is not in use.

Casual, dress shoes and trainers are also not permitted.
